About
I’m Deb T. I’m in serious DEBT. I know, it’s corny. Of course, Deb is not my real name. I’ts not even close. But I’m remaining anonymous because like so many of us yuppies in debt, for whatever reason, we hide it from our friends and family. For the ones fresh out of college, it may be as simple as denial. For some, it may be the fact that we don’t want our parents to worry about how on earth we will make our mortgage payments on time each month. For others, it may be the desire to appear and act well-off when you’re really still living paycheck to paycheck. For me personally, it’s a little bit of the latter two. Maybe on the day that I emerge from this mission victorious will I consider going public and revealing my identity. Until then, don’t hold your breath.
My goal is to use this blog in a number of ways. An obvious reason is to keep record of my progress and to keep accountability. Feel free to help keep me accountable and make me eat my words when I fail to keep my promises.
I’ve been talking about getting out of debt for so long, but the trying usually only lasts a couple of days. Just recently, I’ve been reading the blogs of others who have succeeded in their mission to get out of debt; and it’s been quite an inspiration to me. I hope to do the same for any of you who may be reading and following along with my journey to financial freedom.
I’m sure that I won’t be able to resist the occasional off-topic, random blog post. So, don’t be surprised if you see some non-debt-related posts sprinkled throughout this blog.
Lastly, I am a non-denominational Christian, and that might be evident when you read about my perspective on some things.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me here. Thanks and happy reading!
